Purpose


Equip Jurupa Valley with emergency necessities, family disaster plan, and other community resources. Hear from local professional guest speakers to help spread valuable health and safety information to the community.

Drug Free Community Work Group 

Meets every third Thursday within the SAR meeting. Partnering with the 12 sectors of the community:

  • Businesses – local business owners 
  • Schools – Jurupa Unified School District 
  • Youth – youth members 
  • Parents – PTA and other active parents 
  • Youth-Serving Orgs. - Rubidoux Youth Opportunity Center 
  • Substance Abuse Orgs. – RivCo Dept. of Public Health & Treatment Centers 
  • Local and State Government – City council members and state representatives 
  • Law Enforcement – Jurupa Sheriff Station 
  • Media – City Hall PIO 
  • Faith-Based Community – active church members 
  • Civic Community – Rotary and Lion’s club 
  • Healthcare – Community Health Systems 
  • Current projects: Installation and promotion of new medication take back box at city hall. Modifying youth-alcohol and Jurupa Valley smoke free policies. Presentations and trainings on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose, and youth vaping trends. Anti-vaping social norms campaign with youth members.
