The Jurupa Valley City Council urgently requests that all residents contact Governor Jerry Brown’s office and urge him to sign SB 817. This vital piece of legislation will restore the approximately $5.5 million in annual funding the state diverted from Jurupa Valley in 2011 when they adopted legislation to support the state prison realignment program. It is vitally important that the Governor restore this annual funding as it is significant to the City’s ability to provide a greater level of law enforcement to combat the negative effects that the prison realignment has had directly on our community due to early prisoner releases.
